9:00 – 10:00 am

Crystal Ballrooms K & L
Convention Level

Violence in the workplace has reached epidemic proportions, particularly affecting people who work in industries associated with caring such as healthcare and social services. Since these industries are dominated by women workers, they are disproportionately affected. Women are also affected in other industries, such as the service industries. This presentation will outline the history of this issue, the number one killer of women on-the-job, as well as discuss what is currently going on to address this escalating problem including current law changes and the standard of care needed by employers to protect their workers.
