Tuesday
11:00 – 12:00 pm

Crystal Ballroom C
Convention Level
(Entrance to Crystal G2)

An orthopedic referral can be critical to the recovery of a patient with a complex work related injury. But what is an appropriate referral, and what factors influence the reason someone seeks advanced care for a complex work injury? Appropriateness of a referral is critical to prevent poor out- comes, patient dissatisfaction, and fragmented care coordination. During this presentation, panelists will identify what is an appropriate referral, including the timing of “stat” or “urgent” types of injury, and delve into how the expertise of orthopedists and effective communication can play a pivotal role in the success of your referral management process.
