WCI Attendee Safety Memo

The final program for this year’s National Workers’ Compensation and Safety/Health Conference has now been completed, a copy of which can be accessed by referring to WCI’s website. The program has been sent to the printer and will be distributed shortly. We encourage everyone to review the program to understand the depth of this year’s conference with an appreciation of the extent to which the various planning committees have placed in planning something of value to all shareholders within the workers’ compensation and workplace safety/health industries.

While considerable efforts have been made in the development of this extensive program, even more planning has gone into the creation of the most important aspect of this year’s conference – ensuring the health of all attendees in these challenging times of the Covid pandemic, including compliance with the very strict standards created by Give Kids the World relating to our volunteer efforts.

Even though there has been a general downward trending of Covid cases, numerous protocols are being developed to ensure the health and safety of our attendees. We are guided by the mandates of the CDC, state and local requirements, and those required of the conference hotel, the Marriott World Center. We are currently in discussions with a major hospital in Florida to expand our health fair to include general health examinations as part of the usual health fair located in our exhibit hall. At this time, we will not be asking for documentation of vaccinations and would suggest that people wear masks in all indoor public areas unless otherwise required by standards as above referenced. Due to the fact that this year’s conference will be held in the cooler month of December, areas of the conference where attendees usually congregate will be moved to outside venues at the conference hotel, weather permitting.

The safety of our conference attendees is paramount in the conference planning. As we get closer to the conference dates, very specific directives will be provided.

We look forward to seeing everyone in December featuring many new activities focused on the holiday season. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
