9th Annual Florida Orthopaedic Society Injured Workers Inspiration (IWI) Awards – Case Presentations
The Injured Workers Inspiration (IWI) Awards were created to recognize the achievements of injured workers and their musculoskeletal physicians. Highlighting this year’s most compelling stories of medical innovation and the conquering nature of the human spirit, these case presentations will both inspire and educate. Please join us as we celebrate the achievements of these remarkable patients and recognize the advances of musculoskeletal science.

Evolving Science in the Assessment and Treatment of Concussions
Clinicians continue to learn a great deal about the diagnosis and treatment options available for patients who suffer concussions. During this talk, Dr. Koleta will define a concussive injury and identify multiple pre- and post-morbid factors from the neurobiopsychosocial model that can con- tribute to protracted symptom recovery. The presentation will identify key methods for clinical assessment of concussive injury as well as recognized risk factors. The speaker will also address the importance of implementing appropriate return-to-work strategies that promote an individual’s function as they recover from a concussion injury.
