Return to Work Reimagined

Monday
2:00 – 3:00 pm

Grand Ballrooms 13 & 14
Convention Level

In this portion of the Workplace Health Track, we are taking a closer look at the claims process and outcomes following traumatic injury. We will concentrate on concussion protocols and return-to-work practices. The panelists will educate the audience on early diagnosis, expedited specialist treatment, and concentrated support by trained nurses. They will discuss the value of concussion protocols and their impact on lost time claims. The panel will then address issues that impact an early return-to-work including: the individual’s perception of their injury, poor communication between the individual and employer, lack of a RTW plan and family issues which promote a stay-at-home lifestyle. The panelists will address the reality that 80-90% of injured employees would rather return to work than collect disability.
