How Small Acts of Non-Compliance Lead to Costly Penalties and Litigation

Charlene Miller, Bureau Chief of Monitoring & Audit, along with Leslie Caraballo, Senior Management Analyst Supervisor will review the statutory responsibilities of their bureaus. When the Division identifies non-compliance whether on audits of claims-handling entities in accordance with Section 440.525, Florida Statutes, resolving reimbursement disputes (Section 440.13(7), Florida Statutes), or receiving calls on the injured worker hotline (Section 440.191, Florida Statutes) the goal is to trace the issue back to the root cause and prevent future non-compliance and mitigate negative claim impacts “downstream.”
