Evidence for Adjudicators

9:00 – 10:50 am

Grand Ballrooms 4 – 6
Convention Level

Long a popular feature of the Judiciary College, NAWCJ welcomes back Professor Charles Ehrhardt, from the Florida State University School of Law, a renowned expert and lecturer on Evidence. Professor Ehrhardt will analyze factual scenarios presented, query the assemblage as to whether and under what circumstances evidence would be admissible, and explain how the Federal Rules of Evidence impact the discussion. Professor Ehrhardt’s clear, logical explanations demonstrate his command of the subject matter. His speaking style and manner makes learning the rules of evidence fun. Attendees will gain both a better understanding of the rules of evidence, and the rationale underpinning those rules. A panel consisting of Judges Deneise Lott, Sheral Kellar and Bruce Moore will join Professor Ehrhardt in reviewing the factual scenarios and will comment on their disposition in states which do not utilize or strictly apply Rules of Evidence. (There will be a break from 9:50-10:00).
