WCI 2022: Session Sneak Peak

The National Workers’ Compensation Review sessions cover a wide variety of lively and thought-provoking topics over a two-day period. The panelists at the kick-off session will provide their respective “score cards” and opinions on the state of the recommendations contained in the 1972 Report of the National Commission on State Workmen’s Compensation Laws. With hundreds of workers’ compensation bills annually filed in state legislatures combined with the mass of administrative rule changes proposed by various jurisdictions, policy advocacy and management play a crucial role in shaping states’ workers’ compensation systems. The speakers for this session will give their unique insight and strategies on putting your best foot forward in addressing issues in the legislative, administrative, and judicial arenas. Other sessions within this track include a two-part panel discussion on the emerging occurrences that contribute to the growing 24-hour workers’ compensation liability exposure; developments and applications within the virtual injury treatment delivery system; tackling chronic pain from an interdisciplinary approach; and integrating mental health treatments to achieve improved claim cost outcomes and greater satisfaction from the injured worker in claim management.
