WCI is excited to announce basketball legend and Hall-of-Famer, Bill Walton, will be the celebrity keynote speaker at the 77th Annual Workers’ Compensation Educational Conference and 34th Safety & Health Conference on August 20-23, 2023 at the Orlando World Center Marriott.
Bill starred at UCLA playing under Coach John Wooden, winning two NCCA National Championships. He was the number one overall draft pick for the Portland Trailblazers and led them to an NBA Championship. In the 1980s, he joined the Boston Celtics and was part of their championship run. Bill has been named one of the greatest basketball players in NBA history. Bill serves as a college basketball television analyst and is active in many organizations and charities.
“We are honored to bring Bill to our conference. Bill has first-hand insight of what it takes for a team to perform at the highest level after having played on multiple championship teams, playing under Hall-of-Fame coaches, and playing with Hall-of-Fame players,” stated Andrew Sabolic, WCI’s Executive Director.
Bill has overcome a lot of adversity and displayed great resiliency in his personal life and during his professional career. “When Bill describes what he has gone through, I think it is representative of why the workers’ compensation industry must play such a vital role in securing the best outcome for injured workers,” added Sabolic.
